It was designed by the prominent British architect and writer Donald Steel, who defined it as: “the most exciting and challenging project I have designed and built. The 18 holes that overlook the sea at Tecina Golf have a total length of 6,343 meters from the white tees and it is a par 71. Its fairways and greens are surrounded by an exuberant example of Canarian flora, such as cardones and tabaibas, as well as fruit trees like bananas, avocados or mangoes, which spread their characteristic aroma.

Reopening in December 2024: Naturally better
Extensive renovation of the Hotel Jardín Tecina
At the end of 1987, Hotel Jardín Tecina opened its doors – now they have closed! But only temporarily, of course, and for a very good reason: in order to further improve the vacation experience for its guests, the hotel will be extensively renovated and modernized in the coming months, with the "Different by Nature" character and the theme of sustainability continuing to play central roles.
First details on the future look & feel
The rooms, including the bathrooms, will undergo a thorough renovation, including layout, flooring, lighting, decoration, air conditioning, doors and windows. The Canarian style and current colors are generally maintained, the new design is based on elements that were part of the Canarian interior design at the beginning of the 20th century and will certainly inspire with a fresh and contemporary touch in line with the local atmosphere.
With the new "PURA VIDA" concept at Jardín Tecina, the hotel is expanding its exclusive "Adults only" segment, consisting of 18 Villa suites and 12 Floresta rooms with garden or side sea views.
In the main restaurant, the Canarian atmosphere will be enhanced with new rustic decorative elements, including a new buffet area. The existing ones will be rearranged and optimized for the guest experience.
The entertainment area will also be extensively redesigned to create spaces with different atmospheres. There will be a bar with a show stage, cozy corners to enjoy a drink, a multi-purpose room with sports TV and an entertainment and relaxation area as a meeting point for the youngest guests in well thought-out designs.
Speaking of the pool: new flooring will be laid in the entire main pool area and the pools themselves will also be given a new lining, which will visually unite the three pools into a coherent ensemble. There will also be a new children's play area called "Laurus", which will offer water fun for the little ones. The barbecue area located here, as well as the pool bar, will have a new look from winter.
The paths connecting all corners of the hotel will be covered with a new, high-quality material to optimize both their functionality and their visual impact. The innovation measures also include the technical paths: for example, a comprehensive fiber optic network will be installed with a direct connection to all hotel rooms, ensuring a perfect internet connection from every point.
This and much more will keep the Hotel Jardín Tecina busy in the coming months and will necessitate its temporary closure up to and including December 5, 2024. With the exception of the Tecina Golf course (web) adjacent to the hotel and the Beach Club Laurel (web), which is located directly by the sea: both facilities remain open for guests all year round.
